Gage is a 2-3 yr old, shepherd x husky looking for a secure, active family to call his own. He was picked up running at large as a stray and was never claimed. Gage is a sweet, affectionate boy once he gets to know you. At first meeting he can be a bit shy, but once he feels comfortable he loves to cuddle and even share kisses. We are looking for an owner that will keep him well contained when outside. He should not be left unsupervised even in a fenced yard. So far Gage has been well behaved around other doggies that he has met, and would probably benefit from a sibling that could show him the ropes...at this time he doesn't understand what toys are for, so we are assuming he's never had any. Sometimes he can be spooked by loud noises, so we feel a home with well-mannered children ages 8 & up would be best. Gage is being crate trained in his foster home-- at this time he does put up a fuss going in it, but once inside the crate he is completely quiet and calm. Gage is now neutered and current on general vaccinations. His adoption fee is $200.00 which helps to cover the cost of his vetwork. Your first step to add Gage to your home is to submit an application.

Simon's story...
Hi! My name is Simon and, as you can see from my picture, I am one handsome boy! I am a little shy and sensitive, but I am very eager to have some special people who will love me. I really do enjoy it when someone sits down by me and pets me for awhile, but I enjoy being on-the-go, too! Because I am a little shy right now, I'd like to be in a home with kids age 10 and up. If you will give me some time, patience, and love...I'll give you a great dog in return!

UPDATE 9/22/09 Thor's foster mom and dad have done an amazing job making Thor into the healthy dog that he is now. Thor is at a really great weight, is doing well with most other dogs now and even seems to be ok for bold cats. Thor knows all of his commands including heel, sit, down, come and kennel up. He has made just amazing progress and one would think he had been a pampered pet his entire life. We can't seem to figure out why Thor has yet to be adopted. He is a great companion, really funny and would do really well for a young couple or a family with older kids. Please give Thor his well deserved forever home!

Thor is a 3 - 4 year old Husky.  He was found running loose with a chain dragging behind him. Nobody bothered to look for him at all. Thor is a very social dog and is very friendly.  He seems to get along with other dogs ok but would prefer to be the only dog in the household we think. He is currently fostered with other huskies and he does not really like other male dogs. He isn't vicious by any means just prefers not to interact really.  Poor Thor looks like he had bad fly bites or frost bite on both ears and he is such a wonderful dog with a great temperament.  THor is completely housetrained and he crates ok. He has the classic husky attitude but he will do anything for yummy treats or affection. Thor would be fine for older children and is very loving.  He is better placed in a home without cats -  he focused on my cats and was not easily distracted.  If you are looking for a very friendly companion with an easy going activity level then Thor would be the dog for you. UPDATE: Thor has been clicker trained and has finish obedience class. He has come leaps and bounds from where he was when we first got him. Thor would make a great companion for an adult household that loves huskies. These pictures just don't do him justice. Please consider this handsome boy today!
